IVA2D3D developed a typographic ‘dyslectic’ seating concept, in which she went back to the most elementary form of a chair, a segment that clearly visualises a block shape of a ‘b’ or ‘d’. (As a reaction on the organic shaped dyslectic font). To keep these two letter forms apart, she works with materials that have two different sides and which are sustainable. The specific letter shape will be determined by using the flexibility, strength and texture of the material and the required processing process.
One of the materials that’s been used is the expanded cork. This biobased material is the base of the two models, the b18 and e18, in the “Chair serie-db” that IVA2D3D has created.
